To equip African Masters and PhD level students with necessary tools and skills to develop their theses and dissertations.
The successful candidates will be provided with a 6-months long self-paced online course tailored for dissertation/thesis writing in an African context. The necessary tools for thesis/dissertation writing as well as a platform for high level discussions amongst the learners on taught skills will be provided.
AOSARS is committed to provide full scholarship to at least 30% of the successful applicants. For this cohort of students, they will have full access to the skills and tools for the course free of charge.
AOSARS will further (dependent on demonstration of academic and financial need) provide partial scholarships of upto 75%, 50% and 25% off the published costs of the courses. The published cost of the courses are available the skills to be covered section above.
The scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria;
Must be African students either at Masters or PhD level currently enrolled in an African-based University.
Must be in the dissertation/thesis writing stage of their education.
Successful applicants must be in a position to commit at least 2 hours weekly to the course.
Successful applicants consent to have their photo and a brief profile uploaded under a page for the scholarship alumni for the 2023/2024 cohort.
Applicants who already have an Aosars profile (which can be accessed here) and have additionally joined the AOSARS research whatsapp forum (whose link is accessible here) will be given first priority.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and all applicants results will communicated to them on or before 2300 hours GMT, 4th of December, 2023.
